Osun Govt Seals Off Four Private Schools Over Non-compliance With Standards
The state government of Osun on Wednesday sealed off not less than four private schools in Ife-North local government area for not meeting up to the standard set for the operation of private schools in the state.
The exercise was carried out through the Quality Assurance Department of the Ministry of Education for various offences ranging from
inconducive environment for learning, non approval for operation of school and non compliance with Covid-19 Protocols.
The quality assurance department of the Ministry of Education is a department set up to ensure that no illegal School is being run in the state, and ensure that all schools keep to the guidelines of running a standard school.
The Director, quality Assurance Department, Miss Adetutu Olulande who spoke on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunsho Bamisayemi said it is no longer business as usual because the present administration is determined to improve the quality of education in the state.
She emphasized that the schools sealed will not re-opened under any circumstances except they meet up with the standard given by the state Ministry of Education.
“The present administration in the state frowns at any private or public school that does not conform with the set standard, the present administration wants to significantly improve the standard of education in the state and there is no going back on it”.
The schools that were sealed are; EPOCH group of schools, EPOCH model school, Edunabon, Balothely International School, Edunabon and God’s purpose Montessori Nur/Pri School, all in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun state.
