COVID 19: Osun First Lady Tasks Awo Residents On Hygiene, Obedience To Law
The wife of the Governor of Osun State and President Ilerioluwa Development Initiative, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has charged residents of Awo community in Egbedore Local Government Area of the State to take seriously the coronavirus disease currently ravaging the whole world, appealing to the them to constantly wash their hands and use hand sanitizer and face mask regularly.
Mrs Oyetola gave the charge in Awo, headquarters of Egbedore Local Government during the continuation of her NGO house to house distribution of palliatives to the vulnerable in Osun West Senatorial District of the State
Wife of the Governor who was supported during the house to house items distribution by the state deputy Governor wife, Mrs Olufunke Alabi and other wives of top political functionaries in the state noted that the COVID 19 is not a thing to be trifled with as some people once joked with at the onset of the pademic in NigeriaShe stated further that the best ways to avoid contracting the virus are by adhering to social distancing, using the face mask and to keep a relative distance from anyone who coughs or sneezes uncontrollably.
The President Ilerioluwa Development Initiative commended the efforts of the state government and various corporate bodies and NGOs in Osun for their gifts of love to the needy in the state since the inception of the sit at home order by the government,adding that self isolation in this novel coronavirus period is a very good step to keep all citizens of the state safe.
Mrs Oyetola called upon all citizens of Awo community to desist from all forms of open defecation act which can cause other forms of disease outbreak in any society and commended ifedayo local government for taking the lead to become the first local government to be open defecation free in South west Nigeria.
Mrs Oyetola prayed that God Almighty shall cleanse Nigeria and the world at large of the strange pestilence.
Responding during the house to house distribution of relief materials in Awo community, the Alawo of Awo Oba Musa Olatubosun Akinsilo ll commended the wife of the Governor and her NGO for the kind gesture extended to the people of the town and he prayed that the gods of the land will cleanse the land from the strange pandemic.
