By Steve Oni, Ilorin
The people of Okelele/ Ibagun community in Ilorin East local government area of Kwara state have expressed profound gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his swift response to the rainstorm disaster that rendered thousands homeless in Ilorin and other parts of the state.
The community is particularly excited by the personal visit the governor made to Okelele/ Ibagun community to commiserate with the victims of the natural disaster.
The chairman of Ibagun Progressives Umion (IPU), Alhaji Kuranga Omomeji Morogun, in a statemen said: “IPU will ever remain grateful for His Excellency’s swift response to rainstorm disaster which occurred on 19th Sept 2020.
“That His Excellency personally came to sympathise with the community remains historic. That he eventually sent 300 bundles of iron sheets and nails to our people is unprecedented! We are eternally grateful to you sir!
“We are not unmindful of road construction, refuse evacuation and appointments of our sons to key positions of government! Earlier, IPU had put in place at the community level a committee that would guarantee even distribution of palliatives to the people. We have never had it so good. Alhaji AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq you are the rave of the moment, you saved the day, you saved us the agony. IPU will continue to remain steadfast to your purposeful leadership.”
