The Honorable Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties in the State of Osun, Olalekan Abdul-Rahaman Badmus, has posited that the State of Osun would have been among states contributing significantly to the country’s revenue base by next decade.

He said, with the tripod vision of Mr. Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun, hinged on Agriculture, Tourism and Mining codenamed, OsunATM, the state was already on the path of achieving that.

Badmus made this known in an interview with newsmen on the sideline of the Special Anniversary Jummat Service held at Osogbo Central Mosque in commemoration of the 29th year of the state’s creation.

According to the Commissioner, “The eyes can see and the ears can hear of all the great things that my principal has achieved within the short of 21 months as Governor of our state despite the meagre resources at our disposal. He has proved himself beyond every doubt that he is a financial maestro.

“For someone who enjoys only meagre resources to still be able to pay workers and pensioners salary promptly, deliver on our promises on quality health care at all levels, continue all road projects and approving new ones for construction, put in place a lot of facilities to checkmate Covid -19 pandemic, it is not too much to ask for our support in ensuring that this momentum does not stop until his eight year in office as Governor.”

He added that, Osun was lucky because, it enjoyed the presence of a Governor who had planned for his activities and programmes for the state, while emphasising that it was God’s will that he emerged in 2018.

“When I said in 10 years, Osun would have become a very rich state that would contribute significantly to the country’s Gross Domestic Product, the energy my principal is investing in Agriculture, Tourism and Mining, which is at a turbo level gave me such confidence. We are also in safe hands because there is a development plan in place that would ensure all what we are doing yield positive results,” Badmus said when asked what informed his insistence on a more developed State of Osun in 10 years.
