Uphold Values Of Islam” Ooni Charges Muslims As Ansarudeen Community Visits Monarch

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has charged Muslim faithfuls across the country to uphold the values of Islam as stated in the Holy Quran and portrayed by Prophet Muhammad.
Ooni Ogunwusi made the call on Monday while receiving members of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ebute-Meta, Lagos State, during a courtesy visit at his Ile Oodua Palace, Ile Ife.
“Like we all know and keep hearing from Islamic scholars and leaders, Islam means peace and that is what we must stand for. We must be peaceful in our conducts and dealings with others especially those of other religious belief.
“Like the late Alhaja Falilat Osobemekun in whose lovely memory the Ebute-Meta branch of the Ansarudeen has continued to grow, we must live without bitterness because God is one. Christians, Muslims and others are only worshipping the same God differently.” The Ooni noted.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam, Imam Sulaiman who led other Muslims on the visit described the Ooni as a true messanger of the Almighty Allah who has been serving his creator through his countless services to humanity.
While presenting a beautiful portrait on behalf of the delegation to the frontline traditional ruler, Mr. Rotimi Osobemekun who is a close ally of the Ooni thanked him for his continuous support for the growth of Islam and the peaceful interreligious coexistence in the country.
Osobemekun who described Ooni Ogunwusi as an African great leader, stressed that he and the Ansarudeen community will remain immensely grateful to him for the warm reception at the palace.
