COVID-19: We Need Service Of Supermarket For Survival, Analyst Tells Osun Govt
Comrade Tosin Ayegbusi, who is a social commentator and political analyst in Osun State has called on the government in the state to allow supermarkets like Justrite and many others to operate for daily survival in the face of lockdown over novel Coronavirus.
He explained that it is a global practice to operate an elitist market of that nature, even during social strife and turbulence, to help people with their daily needs, especially medical products .
The activist however described as illogical, and outright display of envy, the call by some individuals to close down a composite supermarket like Justrite.
He added that the import of vituperation of some individuals on the social media over the development clearly indicated covert interest of various purpose .
Ayegbusi argued that the comparison of well organised and professionally coordinated supermarket like Justrite with open business environments like Abe Igi Anu and others exposed crass ignorance and paucity of logic in it’s proponents .
According to him, the political colouration added to the situation, by accusing Governor Gboyega Oyetola of ‘harbouring ‘ Justrite is not only cheap in content but of lesser critical thinking.
He further chided a social media user, for deliberately peddling falsehood with intention to deceive members of the public and cause chaos .
The Social Commentator alleged that a character of such should not be taken serious, adding that he is part of those redundant political jobbers struggling for survival .
“To say that an index case of COVID-19 in Osun was at Justrite without any form of evidence is a reflection of weak mind of high docility .
“No sane person tell such degree of lies in this critical period of our national life. The clarification provided by the government on the index case and about his movement from Lagos straight to his hotel exposed that character as pathological liar of unimaginable degree.
“Such individual should be cautioned by security agents not to cause panic and unnecessary tension through misinformation “, Ayegbusi resorted .
He however commended the management of Justrite for putting in place profound crowd management mechanism as well as quality hygiene control method .
Ayegbusi averred that the need to keep the supermarket open in the first instance is predicated on the availability of affordable pharmaceutical products, which has made medical care accessible to people of different social status and economic condition .
“Majority of us are aware that Justrite is fighting serious battle with dubious business Shylocks in Osogbo, who have been exploiting poor residents in the past, and became jittery and uncomfortable with the advent of the masses -oriented supermarket, that have come to liberate the downtrodden from the shackles of these economic marauders.
” I believe one of these business obscurantist is an employer of ABS. Unfortunately, he must thread softly not to run into trouble in the course of searching for survival .
“Suffice it to say that there is no any other business environments in Osun where it is easy to control crowd like it is being done at the Justrite , including level of consciousness for hygiene .
” I want to submit by saying that supermarkets all over the world are always open for business whenever there is turmoil , even in Lagos, there has been a standing order by the Commissioner of Police to allow supermarkets to operate , for the sole purpose of taking care of their daily needs “, he said .
