Ajimobi Buried At His Oluyole Home As Thousands Still Keep Vigil Awaiting His Corpse At Mosque
The remains of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Ishaq Ajimobi has finally been laid to rest barely five days after he returned to his Creator, Allah.
The Janazah (funeral prayers) for Alhaji Ajimobi was held at his Oluyole Estate residence in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, where he was also buried in accordance to the Islamic rules.
Confirming the development in a statement, the Chairman Oyo State Muslim community, Alhaji Kunle Sanni said the prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan, Sheikh Abdul Ganiyu Agbotomokekere around 10am as against 11am earlier announced.
He said, “The 12 noon announced was a decoy to prevent a mammoth crowd. The janazah was not at Ajimobi Mosque as earlier announced for the same reason. Very few people including all the children and the widow witnessed the burial. The lecture and special prayer for the deceased would start at 12noon at Ajimobi Mosque”.
Muslim News findings revealed that thousands of sympathisers are currently outside the mosque awaiting the body that is already six feet below.
Alhaji Sanni said, “They are oblivious of the fact that the janazah had been concluded.”
Popiular Islamic preacher, Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello is scheduled to give the sermon while other Imams including the Imam of Ibadan Ansar-ud-deen, Dr Bashir Olanrewaju would pray for the repose of the soul of Alhaj Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi.
May Allah bless his soul
