Olofa Instals New Iyalode Of Offa Kingdom

The Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye the Second has formally installed a new Iyalode of Offa kingdom in Offa, Kwara State.

The new Iyalode Offa is Mrs Bolaji Iyabo Ibiyeye-Adisa, a business tycoon and former TIC Chairman of Offa local government.

The ceremony, which took place on Saturday at the Olofa’s palace, was witnessed strictly by a cross section of traditional and area chiefs in obedience to Covid-19 protocols.

Speaking at the event, the Olofa of Offa described the new Iyalode as an industrious woman who has contributed immensely to the development of Offa town and the upliftment of youths and women in the society.

He appealed to all sons and daughters of Offa to continue to love one another and come home and improve the economy of the town.

Oba Esuwoye enjoined the new Iyalode to continue to do her best in the interest of Offa people and Offa town.

Responding, the new Iyalode thanked the Olofa of Offa , his chiefs and the entire people of the ancient city for the honour done her and promised not to relent in contributing her quota to the upliftment of Offa town.

She appealed to the people of Offa to continue to love one another and avoid involving themselves in any breach of the peace.

The programme which coincided with the birthday of the Iyalode also witnessed the signing of the certificate of her new title.

Part of the functions of the new Iyalode is to mobilise and organise empowerment programmes for the youth and the womenfolk in Offa and ensure that they are economically stable and self reliant.

Meanwhile, the organisers of the ceremony disclosed that the elaborate event and celebration of the title will come up after the COVID-19 pandemic.
