Leo Clubs Distribute Palliatives To Aged In Osogbo
As part of their humanitarian services to the less privilege, not less than hundred aged men and women, on Friday in Oja Oba Area of Osogbo have benefited from food items distributed by Leo clubs in Osun.
The palliative according to the Region 6 Director of the International Association of Lions Club , District 404B2 Nigeria, Leo Osineye Muritada was to give relief to the poor of the poorest in the society against hunger.
Leo Muritada noted that old citizens deserved to be catered for in all possible manner saying they have returned to the stage when they can no long work to feed themselves.
He further said the distribution of the food items was to let the aged know that the Leo Clubs love them and want their happiness.
“We need to continually show care and love to the aged in our society so that they don’t die of depression ” he said.
He, however, urged spirited individual in the society to extend kind gesture to the needy in their society especially the aged.
Octogenarian, Saudat Salako who could not hide her elation lauded the NGO for counting her among beneficiaries of the palliative.
She said the NGO displayed the real sense of humanity which is expected from every citizen in order for Nigeria
to have a society where the old are jealously taken care of.
Azeez Okunade who also spoke with BlazeNewz said the Leo Clubs despite being an NGO have done what many wealthy Nigerians always shy away from.
He pray that God should continue to bless every member of the Leo Clubs.
