Famurewa Condemns Vandalisation And Looting Of Govt, Private Stores In Osun
The Executive Chairman of Osun state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Honourable Isreal Ajibola Famurewa has condemned the looting and destruction of properties of Osun residents.
Famurewa, who is also the Director General of Ilerioluwa movement said this in a statement made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, on Monday.
He described the acts as highly condemnable and inimical for the peace and prosperity of the state and nation at large.
Hon. Famurewa, who appreciated the Governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola for being on top of the situation by taking the necessary steps towards protecting lives and properties of the people said the governor has ensured peace, progress and development of Osun.
He emphasised that individual and government properties were massively looted by some hoodlums and individual elements who hid under the guise of #ENDSARS# protest to perpetrate criminal acts.
“It is embarrassing for the leaders of tomorrow to indulge in wanton looting and disruption of people’s properties while riding at the back of #EndSars protest to attacking individuals and government properties. And above all, the act is uneconomical to the development and progress of an ideal society, ” Famurewa said.
However, he also implored citizens and residents of Ipinle Omoluabi to emulate the virtues of ‘Omoluabis’, and to also avail the government an opportunity to implement its people’s programs and policies cum their demands.
He stated further that the youths should obey the stipulated laws of the land, adore one another, and do away with the bad eggs in the society and embrace peace and development.
