Coronavirus: Osun Senator Goes Into Self Insolation After Visit To UK
The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has gone into self-isolation after returning from the United Kingdom, a country currently ravaged by coronavirus.
Senator Basiru made this known this afternoon in a tweet on his official handle @DrSRJ_
He tweeted;
“Contrary to the reports that all the Senators that travelled to the United Kingdom for the Petroleum Oil and Gas seminar have not complied with the protocol on precautionary steps on Covid-19, I have been on self isolation since I returned from the UK.”
“So I have not been to the National Assembly or attended to any business or function. Also, the National Center for Disease Control contacted my next of kin earlier today to know how I am faring. I am in good health and enjoying enough rest at home.”
There has been unconfirmed reports over the status of several Federal Legislators who recently returned to the country.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari, has also tested positive to the deadly coronavirus.
Nigeria has currently confirmed 42 cases of COVID-19. One of the patients died on Monday, according to officials.
