COVID-19: Return To God In Prayer, Anglican Bishop Urges Nigerians

The Bishop, Ijesa North Diocese, RT. Rev. Dr. Isaac I. Oluyamo, JP, has called on Nigerian to see prayer as the only antidote to the current problems facing the Country.

Bishop Oluyamo gave the charge during the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion 2020 Ijesa North Diocese Ordination Service at Ọba Olashore Anglican Church, Iloko-Ijesa penultimate Sunday.

Bishop Oluyamo, said, human being cannot do anything without the adequate support of Almighty God who he said will fight the fight, saying prayer is the only solution to the Country’s predicaments.

According to the Bishop, “Let us all wake up from our slumber and call for the quick intervention of the Almighty God who is our saviour, to protect us from the Covid 19 pandemic, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the country”.

He said, ” We Christians all over the world have been praying and we will not relent praying for God’s protection over everyone of us including our leaders as they are trying their best towards the betterment of the citizenry”.

While charging the ordinands, Bishop Oluyamo said, they should dedicate their ministerial works to evangelism, prayer and service unto God and humanity.

The Bishop encouraged the congregation and all residents of the community to listen and be obedient to their Church leaders as well as government authority.

The Clergy, affirmed that their cooperation with their Church and political leaders will promote growth and development in the society and enhance better opportunity to live together in peace as a Nation.

While speaking with Journalists at the colourful ceremony, one of the ordinands, Rev Chukwudi Nwabuisiaku, said he thanks the Almighty God for his elevation saying he didn’t regret worshipping Jesus Christ whom he described as “Saviour” to all and sundry and solution to every situations in life.

Rev Nwabuisiaku, who was highly elated enjoined Nigerians to return to God as the only way to be liberated.

At the ceremony were, Mrs Nkechi Nwabuisiaku, Dr Mrs Margret Oluyamo, Rev Remi Omiyale, Rev Elijah Ojo, and Rev Timothy Agunlejika among others.
