Covid-19: 25,000 Private School Teachers Benefit From Osun First Lady Palliatives
As part of the measures to mitigate the hardship faced by the private schools teachers in Osun state due to the coronavirus pandemic, Wife of the Governor and the president, IleriOluwa Development Initiatives, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has extended her NGO’s hand of love through provision of palliative items to twenty five thousand private school teachers in the state.
Mrs Kafayat Oyetola on Wednesday presented the relief materials to the Executive Members of National Association of Proprietors of private school teachers, Osun Chapter in her office.
Wife of the Governor who described education as a vital key to Nigeria’s economic growth, appreciated teachers in the state for their wonderful commitment towards securing the future of the nation through their incomparable work of training the children, praying that God will continue to bless them with divine wisdom.
She stressed further that effect of the virus which led to closing of all schools in the country and the world at large has made it impossible for Proprietors of private schools in the country to continue to pay salary of their staff, saying this makes her deem it fit to extend her love to them.
Wife of the Governor emphasized that, private schools teachers have been the worst hit since the coronavirus pandemic broke out.
Responding, the State Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS)Osun chapter, Alhaja Muinat Adepoju appreciated Mrs Oyetola for the hand of love extended to private school teachers in Osun, stating that the sudden closure of school s in the country due to COVID 19 pandemic has brought a lot of hardship to teachers under the payroll of each private schools in the state and the country at large.
She therefore, on behalf of the Association prayed for more strength for her to do more and to succeed as mother of the State.
