Anxiety As Osun Records 97 COVID-19 Cases In October, November
As the second wave of Coronavirus is imminent in Nigeria, Osun state recorded 96 cases between October and November.
It will be recalled that the Federal government warned Nigerians against nonchalant attitude to the COVID-19 protocols as a fresh wave of the pandemic hits Europe.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, daily statistics, Osun recorded 73 COVID-19 cases in October and 24 cases as at November 23, 2020.
The state also recorded 40 COVID-19 cases in September.
It was gathered that despite daily awareness to guide against contracting the novel Coronavirus, residents have ignored the precautionary measures set by the state government and NCDC.
While accessing the level of compliance with the rules of COVID-19, CityMirrorNews observed that residents have relaxed and are no longer observing social distancing and washing their hands regularly.
Speaking with some residents in Osogbo, they claimed that “the virus is long gone and the government should stop deceiving us about a virus that doesn’t exist in Nigeria.
“Since the ease of the lockdown, how many people died? What we need are food and money. The government should stop disturbing our peace with Coronavirus.”
