Road Accident Claims Two Lives In Osun
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun says two persons lost their lives as a result of an accident that occurred along Ile-Ife and Gbogan highway .
The Sector Commander, Mrs Kudirat Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement made available to the CityMirrorNews by the Public Enlightenment Officer, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi, on Tuesday in Osogbo.
Ibrahim noted that the accident occurred due to a collision between two vehicles, which involved 23 persons at about 3:00 am, with only two persons injured while two other persons lost their lives .
” A Toyota Camry with registration number FKJ746DU collided with a White Bus with registration number FKJ634XW along Ife – Gbogan highway today at about about 3:00am .
” Two persons lost their lives in the process while some injured persons taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) in Ife.
” The items recovered have been taken to Ipetu Police Station by Officers of the Nigerian Army who also arrived at the scene,” She said .
According to her, the accident occurred due to road traffic violations and speeding by the motorists .
The sector commander called on road users to be safety conscious and obey the road traffic regulations in order to avoid any unwanted situations on highway.
Ibrahim, therefore , advised motorists to complied with the road safety act in order to avoid their vehicles being impounded or fined and made to face the wrath of the law.
