Onajite Congratulates New Baptist World Alliance Appointees

The President, Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC, Pastor Onajite Enunuaye has congratulated new appointees of the Baptist World Alliance, BWA.

In a statement personally signed by him and made available to CityMirrorNews, he noted that the appointments are quite apt. He expressed confidence that the new appointees shall succeed in this new assignment while praying that the Lord shall grant them the grace to excel in achieving the global mandate of the body.

The new appointees from Nigeria are, Oba Adeoye Gbenga Adigun Oyinlola II JP, President, All Africa Baptist Youth Fellowship, AABYF, appointed as member of Baptist World Alliance Congress Planning Committee and member, Baptist World Alliance Commission on Religious Freedom; Rev Dr Edward Kehinde Alabi (Nigeria), member, Baptist World Alliance Human Right, Peace Building and Reconciliation; and Mr Babatunde Adejumobi (Nigeria), member, Baptist World Alliance Commission on World Aid.

Other appointees from Africa are, Rev Dr Brickson Sam from Sierra Leone, appointed as member, Baptist World Alliance Human Right, Peace Building and Reconciliation; and Evangelist Koffi Soke Kpomgbe from Togo appointed as member, Baptist World Alliance Commission on Mission and member, Baptist World Alliance Commission on Religious Freedom.

Onajite appreciated Baptist World Alliance, BWA, under the leadership of a youthful and versatile General Secretary, Elijah Brown for these appointments.

The youth leader urged Baptist Christian youths in Africa and Nigeria in particular, to continue to pray for the new appointees to be empowered with the holy spirit to carry out all assigned duties distinctively to the glory of God.

While urging the appointees to justify the grace of God upon the lives of African Baptist youths whom they are representing, he assured them of the support of the Nigerian Baptist youths towards fulfilling the mandate that these new responsibilities has bestowed on them.

The Baptist World Alliance is the umbrella body of Baptist faithfuls across the world.

Meanwhile, Onajite has felicitated youths on the recently celebrated World Youth Day urging them to serve God and be productive.

“I felicitate with youths around the world especially, youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, on the occassion of the 2020 World Youth Day.

“We are the leaders of today and not just tomorrow. We must be responsible, responsive, productive and ultimately, serve our God especially now that we have the strength.

“You can not be youth twice. Make maximum use of this opportunity to build a better future for yourself, family, nation and humanity.”

He said that Nigerian youths can not continue to watch from the sideline urging youths to be involved in decision making in their various states. “We must engage our leader’s and be involved in decision making. It is a responsibility that we must not shy away from. All is not well with Nigeria and we must speak up” he added.
