Group Calls For Prosecution Of Policemen Who Tortured Woman In Osun

An indigenious group, Iwo Collectives has condemned in its entirety the action of two policemen who allegedly brutalized one Mrs Alimat Tola Abdulazeez in Iwo, Osun state for allegedly violating lockdown directives.

The leadership of the organization in a press statement issued by its National Convener, Comrad Akin -Gofment Asifat and Secretary, Comrade Akinyemi Ande Afrikanus and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, on Sunday, called for arrest and immidiate prosecution of the erring officers.

The Iwo Collectives also called Police authenticity to investigate and bring to justice the SARS officers who allegedly killed one Master Tunde Nafiu, an indigined of the antient town on 24th August, 2018 in the town.

The statement reads in part; “The leadership of our organisation “IWO COLLECTIVES” register with dismay the arbtrary demonstration of force over innocent person of our member; Mrs Tola Abdulazeez.

“This sadden occurrence was reported happened to the victim whilst coming from pharmaceutical store to access drug for herself before she was brutally attack by the duo of Inspector Ikuesan Taiwo &Sergent Abass Ibrahim of Iwo Police Division.

“It worthy to note that lockdown enacted law does not forbidden/criminalized anyone to engage in essential services such as Medicine shops,Press Health Practioners,Relief centres et cetera.

“However, our organization is using ample opportunity which this period have afforded to demand for justice on this matter &it different from past occurrences of Police ARBITRARINESS& anti-masses who they pledged to be protecting day&night.

“We equally charge the top echelon of Nigerian Police to make positive effort in getting rid of bad egg out of the force because it painted bad image to the force.

“Our organization once again clamouring for justice on the murder of Master Tunde Nafiu,a promising,young Iwo indigine who was reportedly killed in Iwo as well on 24th August, 2018 by the officer of SARS.

“The persistent happening&justice denial.on cases like these would surely make the masses of our people more dogged to take destiny into their hand.
