Oyetola’s Virtue On Workers Devt Extolled
The Governor of Osun, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has been commended for improving the knowledge and skills of the workforce of the state through consistent trainings and workshops aiming at efficient and effective service delivery.
The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Elder ‘Tunde Adedeji pointed out this acknowledgement today during a 3-day Improvement Workshop on Acquisition of Writing and Minuting Skills for Executive Officers (General Duties) in the Local Government Councils, held at the Multipurpose Hall, Local Government Service Commission,State Secretariat Abere.
The Chairman in his keynote address applauded the Governor for his commitment to create opportunities for every cadre of the civil service without discrimination.
He further expressed his gratitude to Governor Oyetola for his dedication in continually enhancing the development of civil servants in the State of Osun.
Speaking further, Elder Adedeji enjoined the participants at the training to develop effective communication skills through diligent writing and minuting.
He also encouraged them to pay optimum attention to the curriculum of the modules for maximum productivity at their respective local councils’ offices.
In his address of welcome, the Representative of the Consultant in charge of the training, Mr. Oluwole Fajuyitan revealed that communication skills including writing and minuting are very paramount for professional development.
Mr Fajuyitan also enlightened the participants on the significant duties and responsibilities of Executive Officerd at the Local Councils’ offices.
According to him, “As Executive Officers in the Local Councils, you are responsible for preparation of memoranda, letters, and reports for our respective offices”.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Coordinating Director, Local Government Service Commission, Barr. ‘Lekan Babalola, the Director, Finance and Accounts of the Commission, Mr. Abdulganiyu Jimoh, Director, Appointment, Promotion and Discipline, Mrs. Modupe Irelewuyi, and a retired Executive Secretary in the State of Osun, Dr. Lekan Asifat among others.
