The Plateau State Governor, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong has been urged by the Tarok youths to appoint Dr Velle Lohdip Dadi as the Chief Medical Director of Plateau Hospital Management Board in the spirit of one Plateau.

According to the spokesperson of The Youth Vanguard under the aegis of Ngwan Ishi Otarok in North-Central Nigeria, Comrade Shedum Bingtim, alleged that the administration of Governor Simon Bako Lalong is against the Tarok speaking natives by sidelining them over appointment of sons and daughters of Plateau Southern senatorial district.

He raised the alarm in a press statement on Thursday, lamenting that since the administration came on board,it has been playing anti-Tarok policy.

He said, “You would recall that in Plateau Hospital Management Board, the Chief Medical Director, Dr Dakwak Dajom tenure expired early this month after undergoing his 3 months vacation leave. He resumed work on the 12th December, 2020”.

CityMirrorNews gathered that the governor reappointed Dr Dakwak Dajom to still continue as the Chief Medical Director despite the rumour of his health status which was considered questionable and the immediate qualified person, Dr Velle Lohdip Dadi was not given the opportunity.

It was gathered that Dr Dakwak Dajom allegedly refused to hand over to the next most senior following his retirement leave and locked up the office including vital documents in his custody were not given out for office use.

Bingtim said the present government did the same when Mrs J.L. Galams was due to be appointed as the next Accountant General of Plateau state but she was frustrated and transferred to Plateau hospital to hold a redundant place until she finally retired .

According to him, one of the Tarok sons, Barr Solomon Dalung was kicked out of office despite the overwhelming support accorded Lalong by the Tarok people in 2015 general polls which spark off hatred for them with other ethnic tribes in the state.

He disclosed that the reappointment of Dr Dakwak Dajom is considered gross abuse of civil service rules, because the Plateau Hospital Management Board is not political by appointment but is meant for career doctors especially those with adequate qualification to manage the health delivery to teeming populace in this outbreak of covid-19 ravaging the world.

The statement said, “We are calling on the Plateau state governor to appoint Dr Velle Lohdip Dadi who have the prerequisite experience that was tested and trusted to take over as the next most senior medical director in the spirit of one Plateau.”

Bingtim cautioned that once a civil servant is embarking on his retirement leave, what is expected was for him, or her to hand over to CMAC but in the case of Dr Dakwak Dajom, that tradition was truncated completely.

He pointed out that, Dr Juryit of the Plateau Primary Health Care Board tenure didn’t end when Lalong brought his kinsman, Dr Livenus Miamkwap as the director with all the condemnation across the state.

“The Tarok youths will stage a peaceful protest to call on the governor to put tribal agenda aside and appoint Dr Velle Lohdip Dadi for unity and development of Plateau south as a democrat”. The statement concluded.
