The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has expressed optimism that the party will win the forthcoming October 10 governorship election in Ondo state.

Dr. Femi Famakinwa, Chairman of the party in Ondo state disclosed this yesterday while speaking with journalists in Akure, shortly after a meeting with the leaders of the party across the 18 local government areas of the state.

While expressing chances of the party to win the governorship election, Famakinwa said, “NNPP will win the governorship election because currently majority of Ondo state citizens are disappointed with the quality of governance they are getting from the ruling All Progressive Congress. You can see what is happening to the APC at the moment, crisis there and there. A lot of people are absolutely disappointed with what is going on.

“It is very unfortunately that the Akeredolu’s APC led government is unable to deliver on his many campaign promises. His administration scored below performance.

“We are in the final quarter of the game, I don’t see how APC can win this election. In view of this, we are assuring the National body of our great party and members that NNPP in Ondo state is firmly and administratively on ground to deliver this 2020 guber poll.

“About four prominent, credible, fair and transparent people have showed interest under my leadership to unseat the incumbent governor, Akeredolu. I can bodily tell the good people of the state that our party, NNPP is going to surprise them. Any moment from now, our aspirant will emerge. We have our Chairmen fully on ground across all the 18 local government areas, 203 wards and 3,009 polling units in the state. I am confidence that we are going to deliver immensely.”

He alleged that the governor has performed woefully in terms of infrastructure contrary to his campaign promises in 2016 governorship election.

Famakinwa, however, urged the good people of Ondo state, particularly electorate not to vote for the second term ambition of Governor Akeredolu base on his performance in last three years but vote for the NNPP.
