Election: Osun NUJECO Assures Fairness, Transparency
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council electoral committee, NUJECO, has assured of equal level playing ground, fairness and transparency to candidates vying for elective positions.
The committee in a statement signed by the Chairman, Abdulraheem Adekilekun and the Secretary, Fisayo Akinduro said the election would be one of the best elections to reckon with.
The committee also assured members of the union that it would follow the dictates of the constitution to the letter.
According to the statement: “members vying for elective positions at the state council should make sure they read the guidelines of the election as stated in the constitution in order to avoid disqualification.”
The committee reeled out the schedule of the election as follows; Advocacy visits- January 9 to January 17, 2020
Sales and Submission of Forms- January 13 to January 20, 2020
Claims and Objections- January 21 to January 27, 2020
Screening of Candidates- January 28 to January 31, 2020
Pasting of Final List of Candidates and Voters- February 3
Manifesto- February 12, 2020
Election- February 13, 2020
The prices for various positions are State Chairman- N20,000, Vice Chairman- N10, 000, Secretary- N15, 000, Ass. Secretary- N10,000, Treasurer-N10,000, Financial Secretary- N10,000, Auditor-N10, 000.
Meanwhile, Chapels have been urged to make available to the NUJECO committee the comprehensive and updated list of their members as soon as possible.
