Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Mr Benedict Alabi, and wife, Mrs Oyefunke Alabi, on Sunday joined other Christian faithful to partake in the holy Communion service at the Cathedral of St Benedict Catholic Church, Popo, Osogbo, the state capital.

The holy Communion, marked the second Sunday service after the state government partially eased the lockdown directive earlier imposed to flatten the curve of ravaging coronavirus, in which worship centres were allowed to congregate for a period of one hour amidst social distancing arrangement .

In total compliance with social distancing directive therefore, and other necessary protocols as prescribed by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the service commenced exactly 6:am.

In his message to the congregation, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, Most Reverend John Akin Oyejola, reminded the Christian faithful of the futility of human existence, saying everything in life is temporary.

He admonished the congregants to be strong in faith as according to him, every life challenge has its expiring date.

The cleric asserted that people must wholeheartedly connect themselves to Christ, being an intermediate between them and God.

Oyejola further said:” We all need the truth in order to find the real life, which is in Christ Jesus, whatever we need in life, either wealth, fame or power, we can get it even in abundance, but it is for a short while, all what we need is Christ who can sustain us forever”.

He also enjoined Christians to continue to live their lives for God and humanity by showing love and care to one another.

Meanwhile, highlight of the holy Communion service was a special prayer for the state, the government and the citizenry at large.
