Road Rehabilitation: Chief Whip, Olatunji, Ife North Residents Laud Oyetola, Says He’s A Blessing To Osun

Residents of Ife North State Constituency have lauded Governor of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola on the rehabilitation of Moro-Ipetu-Asipa Akinlalu roads.
These roads are part of the major arteries of the Ife North as they link about seven communities including Moro, Asipa, Ipetumodu, Adunabon, Akinlalu among others together.
The residents, while commending the governor’s effort, said it gives them a tremendous joy to see that a contractor has been mobilised to the site and rehabilitation work has commenced without delay.
Also speaking, the Chief Whip, Osun State House of Assembly who is also the Honourable representing Ife North State Constituency after monitoring the project appreciated the state governor on behalf of his people saying, “Our governor has further proved that when the right people rule, people rejoice.”
Olatunji who described Governor Oyetola as one of the greatest blessings in Osun state, said: “We have been expecting the rehabilitation of this road for long.
The Chief Whip who was happy with the turn out of his people to monitor the project stated: “you can see the level of excitement in our people. They all trooped out to show appreciation to our amiable governor. That road is the number one priority in our Constituency. It is a thing of joy to see the fulfilment of that electoral promise.
“Despite the paucity of fund, following the current situation of thing occasioned with the COVID-19 pandemic, the governor still deemed it necessary to impact positively on the lives of our people by responding to their yearning.
“There would have been a very good excuse that this project could not take off because we all know that there is a challenge. When this administration got fourteen months and fourteen days’ contract of five major roads signed. We are very happy that Ife North is one of the beneficiaries.
“What we are witnessing today is historical because, in the history of Ife North State Constituency, there has never been a time a singular project that worth 835 million naira be awarded, be it state or federal government. So this is the biggest projects in the history of that Constituency
“That project would cost the state government a sum of 835 million naira.
This, for me, is good governance this is what we stand for, this is the commitment of Mr Governor to good governance.
“As for me seeing this kind of good thing happening in my time, I am privileged to represent them. You cannot quantify the joy and happiness I feel and sense of fufilment. These are common goals that would impact everybody regardless of political and religious affiliations. Everybody is going to benefit from this project.”
Describing Governor Oyetola as a man of purpose, Olatunji asserted that history will never forget him, saying the people of Ife North have no regrets supporting Oyetola and voting for him.
On his part, Alasipa of Asipa, Oba Mufutahu Oyekanmi, described the project as a historical saying, “this kind of project is a long-awaited as the people of the communities have been clamouring for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the road.”
Oba Oyekanmi described Oyetola as a listening governor while appreciating him for counting them worthy in the constituency. He added that a project of that magnitude has never been done in the history of the constituency.
The monarch, who was very excited, promised the unflinching support of his people for governor Oyetola just as he urged the residents of the area to always pay their taxes and levies as part of their own contribution to Oyetola’s administration.
The Baale, Ifelodun community, Moro, Chief Adesola Igbekoyi said the road if completed, will bring rapid development to the Constituency.
Chief Igbekoyi promised that the people would support the All Progressives Congress (APC) with their huge votes during the coming election. In his words: “We are grateful to the Oyetola Administration, and we are praying for the governor and his Administration.”
The Baba Ijo of St James Church, Moro, Mr Tunde Onigbinde, said: “We are very happy about the project. It’s a project that we have been expecting for long. Any government that can do this is a good Government. I can’t deceive you, we are very happy. You can see how people are trooping out to show that we appreciate the Government.”
“I think the people of this Constituency will continue to support the Government. A Government that is doing this kind of project would, as a matter of fact, enjoy the support of its citizens,” he said.
In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Oluremi Omowaiye assured the residents that they would continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy under Oyetola’s administration.
Omowaiye revealed that the visit was to ensure that the contractor handling the job delivers a standard job.
He, therefore, urged the people to continue to support the Governor in his bid to transform the state to the greater heights.
