COVID-19: Herald Of His Peace And Mercy Foundation, HEPMEF Shares Food Items To The Needy In Ibadan
Herald of His Peace and Mercy Foundation (HEPMEF) a non-governmental organization, on Monday in Ibadan donated food items to over 150 residents from some communities in the Oyo state capital.
The President and founder of the NGO Dr.Olubunmi Falade said that the programme put in place by the Foundation was aimed at helping and empowering the less privileged of the society namely: widows, orphans, unemployed youths and so on at this critical period of Coronavirus which prompted people to stay indoors.
“As part of our yearly programme, today was scheduled for training and empowerment seminar. But as we all know, that COVID-19 pandemic is shaking the nations of the world and our country Nigeria and we could not remain indifferent to the challenges faced by most families and homes during this period as a result of the lockdown, Deaconess Falade said.
The Founder, who is also the wife of Evangelist Falade, the Assistant General Evangelist (Crusade) of Gospel Faith Mission International, said that in her little way, HEPMEF and partners put aside her routine program to stretch forth a helping hand to some people from the communities directly or indirectly related to the NGO
“While wishing we could do more than what is seen here today, we would not sit back and wait until we own millions before we reach out to relief some of the most vulnerable people in our different communities represented here today.
We aim at reaching out to about 150 people from the following communities – Olorunsogo, Okelokoole, Kuelu, Surulere, and as partner with FOTATET group of schools Ibadan, we will also extend our hand of love to the teaching staff of the school by giving them raw food like rice, beans garri as well as cooked food since we are in the festive time of Easter.
We pray what we are giving today as our widow’s mite, will open doors for more opportunities in the future.
“I wish our government could feel the pains of the citizens at this crucial time and come to the aid of the vulnerable. Many depend on daily jobs before they can eat per day. They need government intervention for sustenance. I pray the Lord to give our leaders wisdom to do the needful.
“I’m using this medium to encourage everyone to hold on to God who shall turn this hard time round for better. The dark firmament shall bring light and our mourning shall turn to joy. Don’t lose hope. Follow all the health guidelines given to you. Our prayers to God shall pave way to solutions and there shall be testimonies in Jesus name.”
Evangelist Ezekiel Falade during his short Address said that the Foundation was touched by the sufferings of many people during this time of compulsory stay indoors directive.
The Evangelist who also anchors Hour Of God’s Mercy Programme of GOFAMINT where many people have been delivered from demonic oppression and hundreds recorded break through in their careers called on Nigerians to move closer to God this period of challenges.
He assured that Ministers of God would not relent on their efforts to restore peace and tranquillity to the world adding that with God, nothing shall be impossible.
Beneficiaries who cut across religious persuasions and denominations other than GOFAMINT commended the management of HEPMEF for its philanthropy at this period of lockdown praying that God ” uphold the NGO and its leadership.
Mrs. Basirat Salaudeen and Afusat Ambali, part of the beneficiaries, called on both States and Federal Governments to encourage the NGO and its leadership which have been impacting the vulnerable in the country.
