Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi

The Oro-Ago Community Development Union (ODU) has stoutly risen up in defence of the Kwara state Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, describing him as a man of proven track record of civility, diligent, hard working, committed, very temperate in character and candor.

According to the Union, the Deputy Governor is a man that shuns attitudes that lead to break-up in relationships and team work, saying these qualities and many more, have placed him in good stead regarding the office he currently occupies.

A statement signed by the Union’s National President, Engr. Tunji Kadiri, has therefore condemned the malicious, reckless and libelous insinuation by a faceless person on social media that “this gentleman par excellence assaulted a police officer or that he climbed the fence of his office while under the influence of alcohol. This is, to say the least, callous, unfortunate, demeaning, retrogressive and totally uncalled for from any right thinking member of the society.

“We urge the good people of Kwara state to disregard such careless vituperations and outbursts aimed at distracting Governor AbdulRazaq and his deputy from their good works for the state, even as we seek total and unalloyed support from all and sundry to the administration in order to take the state to greater heights.”

The statement further said: “Ordinarily, that publication deserves no response but for the singular fact that it has for the umpteenth time afforded ODU (for and on behalf of the Oloro in Council and the good people of Oro land [home and abroad]) the opportunity to profess our unalloyed support and loyalty to our son and by extension, the Government of His Excellency, Mallam Abdulraman Abdulrazaq, Executive Governor, Kwara State.

“For the sake of records, no amount of campaign of calumny will detract the Deputy Governor from diligently discharging his duties as assigned to him by the Governor.”
