By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
As the governorship election in Ondo State approaches, the National Rescue Movement (NRM), on Thursday declared that the party has all it takes to win the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.
The State Chairman of the party, Hon. Funmilayo Jenyo Ataunoko stated this while speaking with journalists in Akure after a meeting with the State Working Committee (SWC) on the preparedness of the party towards the October 10 governorship election.
According to him, a critical analysis of his party revealed that their chances of winning the forthcoming governorship election is very high owing to the acceptability which the party has gained since its emergence into the political scene.
Ataunoko maintained that NRM is poised to spring up surprises saying “we will beat the first two parties, APC and PDP. This is not a joke, we are fully ready to win this forthcoming Ondo governorship poll, the sun will shine again through our party.
“As you know, we are fully on ground in all the 203 wards and 3,009 polling units in the state and our manifestos speak well about us majority of our people in the state are yarning for a good change and our party is ready to give them ”
Ataunoko noted that the only NRM can wrestle power from the incumbent All Progressives Congress-led government in Ondo state.
NRM Chairman, however, urged the Independent National Electoral Commissions (INEC), to be fair to all parties involved in the election.
“INEC, as an umpire of the elections must be free and fair in conducting this forthcoming Ondo governorship poll, the Commission should ensure transparency of the process,” he said.
