Mr Emmanuel Attah, the Zonal Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) South-West Area Office in Osun, has debunked the report making the round
that a serving corps member was kidnapped in Idanre (Ondo State) during the governorship election that was held in the state on Saturday.

Attah, while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent in Osogbo on Sunday, said he was not happy with the report quoted in a paragraph of the Sun Newspaper’s Sunday publication titled ” AKeredolu in Early Leads” which stated that hoodlums attacked Idanre town and also kidnapped a serving corps member.

He said the report was untrue, as no corps member was kidnapped during the governorship election on Saturday.

“This is another beautiful lie by Sunday Sun Newspaper.

“No corps member was kidnapped before, during and after the Ondo State governorship election.

“All our corps members who were engaged for the election discharged their duties professionally and have all returned to their respective lodges and abodes in good health.

“I have just returned to Osogbo from Ondo today (Sunday) and I can tell you categorically that no single corps member that took part in the election process was hurt , let alone kidnapped.

“The report by the Sun Newspaper correspondent is a fabrication as no corp member was kidnapped.” he said.

NAN reports that Ondo governorship election took place on Saturday, Oct. 10, and NYSC serving corps members were employed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as ad-hoc staff for the conduct of election (NAN)
