Violation Of Inter State Travel Ban: Osun Amotekun, Police Intercept Six Northerners
Six illegal immigrants from Niger state, North central Nigeria, who, in defiance with the total lockdown orders by the federal and state governments, were secretly trying to enter the state of Osun and their host, have been sent back to where they came from, by the combined team of Amotekun corps and the Nigeria police.
Their host, one Olawale Ibrahim, it was learnt, is well known in Igbajo, as he has been living there for about three decades, before the other six came as his guests during this emergency period.
Reports indicate that they entered the community around 7pm and the people of the town alerted the chairman, Boluwaduro local government, who in turn, called the Director General, Amotekun, state of Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, and the DPO of the area; who jointly coordinated the operation.
The police had earlier arrested and detained the illegal immigrants in isolation toll till the following morning, when the Amotekun team got there, in company of health officials, so as to conduct test on them to know the level of their temperature.
Amotekun, in collaboration with police, then led them to Osun-Kwara boundary through Ila-odo and handed them over to a vehicle going to the North.
The chairman, Boluwaduro local government, Hon Akeem Tokede thereafter gave the seven men some amount of money, through Amotekun corps, to take care of their feeding.
They were quoted as even complaining that the money was not enough.
Those arrested were identified as Adamu Ibrahim, Olawale Ibrahim, their host,
Muhammadu Kabiru, Rufai Abdullahi, Sagiru Sanni, Muhammad Muritala, Idris Musa.
However, Amotekun corps, recorded another success by returning 14 suspected vectors, who came from Jos, Plateau state, back to their state.
They were repatriated to plateau state, through Oyo-Kwara border.
Unlike some other cases, their leader appreciated Amotekun, for being civil and for taking good care of them since yesterday.
