Ondo Guber: No Candidate Can Win Without Our Collaboration, Says ‘Coalition 2020’

As the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State draws closer, a political group, ‘Coalition 2020 Platform’, has reiterated its commitment towards supporting whoever candidate that is fully ready to serve and transform the state in the forthcoming gubernatorial poll.

Coalition 2020 Platform, is a pressure group, which cut across 37 political parties, over 300 social organizations, labour unions, professional associations, and artisans.

Speaking with journalists on Tuesday in Akure, the state capital, Akin Akinbobola, Chairman of the coalition assured that any candidate the group endorse will definitely win the election saying that their aims and plans was to support any candidate that will bring dividends of democracy to the state.

According to him, by the time the group decides on the candidate to support, it would become a massive movement that no one could stop it again.

He said, “We are still scrutinising and questioning all the candidates, after that we will now come out openly to let the good people of Ondo state know where we are going to because we must not fall victim of deceit.

“We must vote for someone that is ready to serve us, someone who would respect the people and this can be done if everyone comes together. People must not take us for granted, they have to and ready to serve us by this time around.

According to Akinbobola, “ZLP governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi, PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede and APC governorship candidate, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu have came to met us, seeking for our supports and we have told them what the good people of Ondo state wants by this time around while other candidates are still coming.

“We have told them and we shall continue saying it that no person or candidate can win the next governorship election without the collaboration of this coalition. This political parties will determine the next governor of our dear Sunshine state”.
