Lockdown: Osun Residents Gather At Polling Units, As Govt Begins Distribution Of Palliative Materials
Residents of Osun state have gathered at their polling units, waiting for the relief materials promised by the state government.
Osun state government had Tuesday, announced that the relief materials meant to cushion the effects of the lockdown has been delivered and ready for distribution today, Wednesday.
The government disclosed that 6020 bags of rice would be distributed in the 3010 polling units making 2 for each unit in the state.
As at 8.30am, people have gathered at Osogbo ward 4 unit 18,19 and 20 visited by our Correspondent, waiting for the relief materials.
One woman who preferred anonymity, said she was told that the relief materials has arrived and expressed displeasure over the delay.
As at 9.20am, residents are troopping out from different streets, insisting that they will get their share of the palliatives.
