Federal Lawmaker, Oluga Empowers Constituents With Equipment, Cash In Osun

The joy of some residents in Irewole, Ayedaade and Isokan local government areas of Osun State knew no bound on Sunday, as they smiled home with various equipments and cash through an empowerment programme organised by Honourable Taiwo Oluga.
Oluga who represents Irewole/Ayiedaade/Isokan Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, organised the empowerment programme as a way of giving back to the society and in fulfillment of her electoral promises.
The equipment include 75 motorcycles, 45 deep freezers, 15 hair dryers, 18 grinding machines and 15 sewing machines and cheques of N500,000 given to each four market women heads (Iyalojas),
The N500,000 doled out to each four Iyaloja according to CityMirrorNews Correspondent is expected to be given to the market women with small scale business as loan without interest.
In her remarks at the event held at Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun, the federal Lawmaker said the gusture was part of her poverty alleviation and empowerment efforts.
Oluga further said that her efforts were to complement the federal government’s effort in minimizing and eradicating poverty in the country.
According to Oluga my, “Bringing dividend of democracy back to our constituents, I think it is part of our effort to support the federal government in bringing down poverty level.
“It is part of our effort to support the federal level in bringing down the rates at which poverty is really multiplying.
“Number one, if you look at the socio economic effects of what we have done today, the multiplier effects on our people that we have empowered, it will give them ample opportunity to fend for their family and to make them to be independent.
“And for even those that will be using the tools at their stores, at their shops, at the market, you can be sure this will go a long way in reducing redundancy , in reducing sitting down at home, and depression and frustration.
“I want to see my federal constituency being out of poverty in the nearest future, but we can not say that alone, what we can do is to assist them in their jobs, especially the artisans that is why we have included them in what we have done today.
“This empowerment is not about political party, it is across board. I believe by the time we do this repeatedly, our federal constituency, our state and country will be out of poverty.” she sais
She equally advised beneficiaries to use the items collected judiciously, and that the market women heads, who have received cash amount, should make the money available as a revolving loan, to empower traders under them.
Speaking, Prince Gboyega Famodun,the Osun APC Chairman appreciated Oluga for putting smiles on the faces of her Constituents through the empowerment programme.
He described the gusture as a good one saying this is one of the best ways to bring dividend of democracy to the people of the state, urging other politicians to emulate the good gusture of the lawmaker.
One of the traditional rulers in the area, Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi commended Oluga for
the empowerment saying the lawmaker has through the gusture appreciated the people of her Constituency who trooped out en masses during the ballot to cast their vote for her
Oba Afolabi who described the empowerment programme as a suitable avenue to reduce poverty in the state urged other politicians and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the good gusture.
The monarch enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items given to them just as he urged them to continue to support Oluga and her party in their bids to take the state to the greater heights.
Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Adedoyin Olaleye who hails from Irewole local government area appreciated the honorable for fulfilling her electoral promises.
Adedoyin said Honourable Oluga since she became lawmaker has been doing tremendously well, saying people of the Constituency have done the right thing by voting the lawmaker to represent them , promising unflinching Support for the Honourable.
