The Chief Whip of the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Tunde Olatunji has congratulated teachers at all levels of Education in the State on the occasion of the year,s World Teachers’Day.

In a statement from the office of the Chief Whip, Mr Olatunji described Teachers as Angel in human flesh considering their indispensable roles in modelling people and projecting the future of the society.

The legislator argued that there were compelling and incontrovertible evidences that the development of any nation is a manifestation of the quality of attention given to its Education by government, the organised private sector, parents and the society at large.

Commenting on this year’s edition of World Teachers Day, Hon Olatunnji contended that teachers had to lead in crisis and reimagine the future, but such fundamental and generational responsibility can not be remarkably undertaken without providing critical support for teachers.

‘More than ever before, it has become necessary to be decisive as a people and government to support teachers and the school system, particularly primary and secondary schools in training youth that would be responsive to global emergencies as solutions providers and not as tools to unleash terrors on mankind

The Legislator who represents Ife North Constituency said he is proud to be a teacher and he pledged his continued personal support for the sanctity of the teaching profession and a functional educational system. A development which informed his ”annual award for best teachers in public and private schools in his constituency as well as the Tunde Goes to Teach project”, essentially designed to motivate students and encourage teachers that they are not alone in the divine enterprise.
