A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ife East, Honourable Yinka Olatunbosun has commiserated with traders at the popular Oja Tuntun market in Ife, Osun state over the fire outbreak which occurred on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the market.
Olatunbosun in a statement personally signed by him on Thursday, expressed shock at the wanton destruction at the market saying that millions of Naira was lost to the inferno.
He said that he was shocked by the fire outbreak and the level of destruction noting that it was most unfortunate given the fact that business activity is just picking up again.
He added that December has always been a peak period for traders owing to the festivities. “It is therefore, a double tragedy given the period this is happening.
“I call on our leaders in the state to support these traders most of whom have lost all their goods to the inferno.
“I urge our people to be more conscious during this period especially as we approach the harmattan season which is notorious for fire outbreaks.
“My deepest sympathies goes to all victims of the inferno and Ife land in general. Whatever support we can render at this trying period, we will not delay in responding.
