COVID-19 Lockdown: LG Parliamentarian, Owoade Distributes Food, Cash Gifts To Constituents
A Local Government Parliamentarian in Osun State, Comrade Ademola Owoade on Friday distributed food items to his people to cushion the effect of the stay-at-home order occasioned by Coronavirus Pandemic.
The government had earlier announced restriction of movement to curb the spread of the virus and the policy is already taking a toll on the indigent in the society who can’t afford to stock up to stay at home.
To help fight the hunger that would confront some people in coming days, Owoade, the leader Irewole North East Local Council Development Area of Osun state and founder of a non governmental organization, “Eniwa Development Initiative” distributed the edible items to the residents of the council.
The food items includes; un-cooked rice, beans, as well as drugs (Vitamin C) and cash to support them.
Presenting the items, Owoade said the distribution of the food items was to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 total lockdown among the people of his council area.
Owoade said he decided to dish out the little he has to his people in a bid to ensure that the stay-at-home policy occasioned by deadly Coronavirus Pandemic does not really have serious effect on his people.
