Coronavirus Lockdown: Banik Distributes Cash To Residents In Osun…Wants Strict Adherence

There was joy in the faces of residents of Boripe Local Government and Boripe North Local Council Development Area on Thursday, as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke distributed cash gift to ease financial difficulties among the people during the period of lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The fund, according to the commissioner, was distributed to all the 13 wards of the councils with a view to decentralizing it and get it distributed effectively to the people.

According to him, the gesture was meant to corroborate government efforts in bringing succour to the people during the stay-at-home order of the government.

Adeleke then noted that the gesture would also help in making the stay at home order of the government more effective.

Appealing to residents of the state to adhere strictly to the lockdown order, the commissioner expressed worry that some people are still claiming ignorant of the danger in Covid 19 by saying it is a disease of the rich.

“This set of people are also thinking they are doing the government a favour by staying home and following medical advice .

“They have forgotten that those that came from Cote d’voire and tested positive are not rich people. It is in everybody’s interest if we all comply with the lockdown”, he stressed.

Adeleke then hailed the Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola for the seriousness he attached to the issue of the deadly pandemic called coronavirus by being proactive in all fronts.
