Famurewa Seeks Federal Lawmakers Support For Gov Oyetola’s Second Term Bid
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa has called on members of the National Assembly under the All Progressives Congress in Osun state to rally support for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and ensure his reelection in 2022.
The ex-federal lawmaker made this call on Wednesday when the Honourable representing the people of Ijesa South federal Constituency, Hon. Babatunde Lawrence Ayeni, paid him a visit in his office at Onward area, Osogbo, Osun state.
While appreciating the homage paid him by Ayeni, Hon Famurewa appealed to the Osun APC National Assembly members to come home often, support and compliment the efforts of Governor Oyetola and his administration, through empowerment and political mobilization in the coming election.
He said, “Osun National Assembly members must all come home with full support, liaise, strategize and ensure a second term ambition for Mr Governor. The victory of Mr Governor in 2022 will in no doubt contribute 99% of your victory in 2023 coming election. Using the duo of Ekiti in the year 2014 and Osun in year 2003 -2007 respectively for example.
“Osun must not go back to PDP era. Oyetola is the current governor and we must all support him for a second term, I urge you and your colleagues to strategize together in Abuja on how to deliver your various Constituencies and Senatorial district with bulk votes for Mr Governor come 2022,” he urged.
Speaking also, Hon Ayeni thanked God for the life of Hon. Ajibola Famurewa and described him as a leader that builds leaders.
According to Ayeni, “Hon. Famurewa is a man of integrity, a leader that builds leaders. Also, I appreciate you for using all your available resources to ensure my victory in 2019 General Election; which produced me as a MHR. I will always use the connection you handed down to me as your successor and the opportunity I have for the sake of our constituency and the State at large.
“Once again, I thank you so much for your advice and I am ready to take more of it. Although you contested as a Senator but God put you here to assist and help a lot of people’s destiny politically and more. I will also employ you to continue in building this party and more people to become leaders”.
In his response, Hon. Famurewa said: “I am so happy to see this family because apart from politics, Hon. L.B Ayeni is my brother from another mother. I also appreciate Mr Governor for doing a wonderful job across the state. And despite the fact that Mr Governor is paying the salary of workers as and when due, massive infrastructural projects and rehabilitation of PHCs, Sabo/Irojo road are still on, while work will soon commence at Atakumosa market, Ilesa.”
Other notable dignitaries that accompanied Hon. Ayeni are: Hon. Akeem Olowoopejobori (Chairman Ilesa East) Hon. Oladipo Adeniyi Oluyiblow (Chairman Ilesa North East LCDA), Hon. Giwa Nuruudeen (Chairman Ilesa West ) and Hon Folarin Fafowora (Chairman Ilesa West LCDA), and Hon. Gboyega Oyewumi, the Chief of staff to Hon. Ayeni.
