Coronavirus: Drama As Residents Attack Task Force Over Lockdown In Delta (Video)
Delta state residents were captured attacking and beating up some of Governor Okowa’s Task Force deployed to enforce the two weeks stay at home directive by the state government.
The angry residents screaming “make una dey go” used bottles and machetes to chase them away on the first day of the enforcement of the lockdown order.
Trouble reportedly started when the Task Force accosted a group of young men in the Jakpa area of Warri and ordered them to go indoors.
Exchange of words over them not having food to eat and resisting arrest degenerated to the residents picking up bottles to attack the Task Force.
Meanwhile, Media personnel and blogger, Akpomedawaro Ike has called on Deltans to comply with the government’s lockdown order for the benefit of all.
Noting that the idea behind the lockdown order arises not from witch-hunt but from the fact that many are infected and still roaming around streets, unconsciously spreading the virus, he said;
“It takes about two weeks for the symptoms to start manifesting and when it does, it will be easier for the government to quarantine such persons.
“What ever losses we may incur as individuals cannot be compared to the damages that the government will incur. So in the best interest of all and for our wellbeing, it is advisable that we don’t make the job of enforcing the lockdown order too difficult on security agents that are mandated to enforce it.
