Bukola, Gbemisola Saraki Unite To Fight Kwara Govt Over Father’s Property

The immediate past Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Minister of State for Transport Senator Gbemisola Saraki may have ”sheath their swords” over the onslaught on their father Late Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki by the Kwara state government if the reactions of their aides are anything to go by.

Mallam Yusuf Olaniyonu, Special Assistant on Media to former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, told Vanguard that his boss would shortly react in detail to the latest development, stressing that its not something he can discuss on phone with the Correspondent.

Recall that Dr. Bukola Saraki in a personal statement he issued on this development a few days ago, went down the memory and took a swipe at the state government, stressing that Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman has crossed the borderline of decency

Also, the Minister of State for Transport, Senator Gbemisola Saraki has thrown her weight behind her family over the current travail according to the statement by her Media aide Titilope Anifowose.

Olaniyonu in a short telephone interview also told Vanguard that a lawyer had filed a suit against the Kwara state government since Tuesday, adding that he would also be made a press statement shortly on the development.

He said,” It’s not something we can be reacting to on the phone, we are still coming out with a statement later that would be made available to the press.

The lawyer has filed a suit against the Kwara state government on this matter on Tuesday. I also think he is coming up with a statement on this development. So, let’s wait and see.”

Similarly, Minister of State for Transport and daughter of the late politician, Senator Gbemisola Saraki in her veiled reaction to the development said we have a history and we are proud of that history.

According to a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Titilope Anifowose, she said that the minister has renamed her movement to,’GRS-OLOYE’in perceived solidarity with her family, Saraki against the actions of the Kwara state government.

The statement reads in part,” So, many things have happened this year, in fact, right up to the very dying hours of the year, but we will continue to take brave and faithful steps.”

”We will continue to walk even though we have no idea what will happen next, though we are comforted, encouraged and reassured with this; But they plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners. So, GRS Family, we are going to be known now as GRS-OLOYE Movement.

”We have history, and we are proud of that history. May Allah forgive the sins of ALL our departed and may HE make us worthy representatives of all that they stood for.”
