NASS Committees’ Chairmen: Oranmiyan Congratulates Osun APC Lawmakers, Tasks Them On Dedication

A popular sociocultural Organisation in Nigeria, Oranmiyan Worldwide has felicitated with members of the Osun state All Progressives Congress, APC, at the National Assembly for their new appointments.

The Director General of the group, Hon Olajide Sadiq in a congratulatory messages on Wednesday described the appointments as well deserved.

The appointments are as follows; Senator Ajibola Basiru, Chairman House Committee on Diaspora, NGO and Civil Societies, Adelere Oriolowo, Chairman, Legislative Compliance and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Privatization.

Others at the House of Representatives are; Taiwo Oluga, Women in Parliament, Femi Fakeye, Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Babatunde Ayeni, Deputy Chairman, Police Affairs Bukola Oyewo, Deputy Chairman, Water Resources and Rasheed Olalekan Afolabi as Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Special Duties.

It would be recalled that the Senate has announced the release of 69 standing committees’ chairmen and their deputies.

President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan made the announcement at the plenary on Tuesday.

Sadiq while congratulating the lawmakers urged them to facilitate policies that will better the lives of people in the state and county at large.

“I congratulate you all for the well deserved appointment at the National Assembly. I know with your level of exposure and dedication to the growth of the country, you will discharge your duties effectively.”

According to Sadiq, all the federal lawmakers who emerged under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) are grade shake in the formulation of laws that would have positive impact on the people of the country.

Sadiq said: “Dr Ajibola Basiru who was the former Commissioner for Justice in the State of Osun has the capacity to deliver beyond expectation as the newly appointed Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora, NGOs and Civil Societies.

“Dr Ajibola Basiru going by his antecedents, is capable of holding such a huge position. We need people like him and Engr Oriolowo, Hon Taiwo Oluga, Hon Femi Fakeye Hon Bokola Oyewo,Rasheed Olalekan Afolabi, Babatunde Ayeni and Amobi Yinusa at the National Assembly for effective legislation and sustainability and stability of nation’s democracy.

“National Assembly looking at the current political trend dictates that people who are sincere, honest , vibrant, articulate need to be considered for all these plausible positions”. Sadiq said.

The DG said their appointments is a call to service which must be explored with dedication and focus for the growth of the country.

He therefore appreciated the President of Senate, Ahmed Lawan and Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila for counting APC Osun lawmakers worthy of the given positions.

He equally congratulated the party for clinching the appointments at various levels and wished them more feats.
