The Osun State Commissioner For Health, Dr Rafiu Ismaotu has restated the commitment of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to repositioning and reshaping healthcare delivery in his bid to build on the gains achieved so far.

Isamotu in an interview with newsmen said the present administration has almost completed the renovation and revitalization of primary healthcare centers in the state with the ongoing construction of 120-bedded ward and doctors quarters at the state specialist hospital, Osogbo.

The government according to the commissioner has also put in place measures to screen people with serious medical crisis and refer them to secondary health facilities while those discovered with about 130 people having breast lumps cases have been operated freely at the Asubiaro hospital free of charge.

Isamotu also enumerated the Approval of the consolidated salary structure of medical doctors across the state in terms of welfare as well as finding solution to the dearth of staff in the medical facilities across the state.

His words “We proposed and will initiate Sickle cell screenings for new born baby at birth and increase our enlightenment. Screening of people to detect cancer early its early period so as to quickly treat it and reduce the occurrence in the state populace.”

“Training of our nurses and hospital workers. Advanced Pediatric lives support training of our Doctors across the state, this will start next year.”

“We are also going to intensify on our campaign of living in good health and clean environment,” he noted.

The commissioner who reiterated the resolve of the Oyetola led administration to raise the bar of healthcare service delivery in Osun.
