Appeal Court Sacks APC Lawmaker In Kogi, Orders Rerun Poll

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has sacked the House of Representatives member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in Kogi State, Mohammed Lawal.
Lawal who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had earlier won at the elections petitions tribunal in the state.
In its ruling, the court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct rerun elections in 21 polling units in the constituency.
The appeal was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate, Aloysius Okino.
The verdict also comes days after the Appeal Court sacked the APC member representing Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency in green chambers and declared Barrister Shaba Isah Ibrahim of the PDP winner of the election.
