Plateau-Based Journalists, Jude, Gbande Wins Big at the CAMPAN Convention

Two Plateau-based journalists, Jude Dangwan and Moses Gbande have won the awards of the Best Journalist of the Year 2019 and Best Online Reporter of the Year 2019 respectively at the ongoing Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, CAMPAN, 3rd Convention holding in Jos, Plateau State capital.
The duo was announced by the associations National President, Mr Patrick Osu noting that the screening and selection panel did a great job on the entries.
He said, “Based on the recommendation of our Bishop Chairman, we have introduced merit awards to encourage our members who are working hard to promote the work of the Church through the media. I sincerely wish to thank the screening and selection panel for their dedication to this course.”
The merit awards were presented to the winners at the ongoing Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, CAMPAN, 3rd Convention holding in Jos, Plateau State capital with the theme, “The New Media and Evangelization”.
The duo while speaking with CityMirrorNews correspondent separately in Jos, thanked God for the opportunity and CAMPAN for the honour.
They both said that they were shocked to have won the awards knowing full well that there were hundreds if not thousands of entries. They, however, promised to do more in promoting the faith through their profession.
Other awardees at the Convention were Ms Jessica John from Yola Diocese who emerged as the Best Radio Presenter of the Year 2019 and Vivien Iwu who emerged as the Best Print Reporter of the Year 2019.

The keynote speaker at the Convention was Prof Rev Gotan, the Provost of the College of Education, Gindiri Plateau state who urged the delegates to make judicious use of the new media to preach the gospel.
CAMPAN is the umbrella body for Catholic media professionals in Nigeria with the aim to promote the gospel through their profession.
