Why I Beat My Wife To Death On Christmas Day – Man Speaks

The 37-year-old man identified as Mutiu Shotayo was said to have beaten his wife to death in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

He was reported to have disappeared into thin air when he realized that the 34-year-old woman was no longer breathing.
But when he was arrested, Kabiru said he was led by the devil to continue beating the woman despite appeals from neighbours to stop.
A police source told our correspondent that Mutiu, who is now regretting his actions, said he did not intend to kill the woman; saying “I loved my wife.”
The police source said the suspect debunked rumour that he was a serial wife beater; saying he did not know how it happened on Christmas Day.
Kabiru was quoted as saying, “I think I was provoked, overwhelmed by temper and I allowed the devil to mislead me.”
But neighbours of Kabiru said he was fond of beating his two wives for any minor issue.
They insisted that they have one several occasions settled rifts between him and his wives.
The deceased mother of one, it was learnt, was a trader at the popular Kuto Market in Abeokuta.
