Opposition Not Good For Nigeria’s Democracy-Oriolowo

A frontline candidate of the All progressives congress for the Osun West Senatorial district, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo has said events have proven that opposition wasn’t ideal for the nation’s democracy.

He made this known in an interaction with the members of Osun NUJ Correspondents’ chapel on Thursday in Osogbo.

According to Oriolowo, opposition’s business was to always oppose whether good or bad the policies of the government, noting that Nigerians are witnesses to what is happening in the hallowed chambers where those in the opposition have been trying to frustrate the efforts of the president through their mischievous means.

According to him what was needed was a vibrant check and balance on the various arms of government in the country which would enable the government to concentrate on developmental projects.

This was as he called on Nigerians to vote all candidates contesting various elective positions in the country describing the party as the only party that could give the dividend of democracy

“I want you all to know that voting for other parties will not only amount to a waste of vote but to retrogression. An opposition is an opposition even if you propose a scholarship for his child he would turn it down because of his position as an opposition. We have our destinies in our hands and we have to say no to any opposition.

“ APC is ruling fine in the state and at the center to consolidate and further the dividend of democracy I am imploring the people to vote for all including the president. This will help us tremendously to run a smooth government and the execution of all activities and projects at all levels

The retired civil servant noted that the country as well as his state would benefit tremediously from his participation in politics as he was bring another dimension that would be to the people , and the politics in the country.

He lampooned legislators that gives consumables as part of their constituency project , saying if elected he would focus on investment that can create wealth, provide employment and engagement as well create revenue to the state to his people especially to the youth.
