Declare Miyetti Allah Terrorist Organisation – Igbo National Council
By Jide Afolabi, Jos
An Igbo social-cultural group, Igbo National Council, INC, has called on the Federal Government to declare Miyetti Allah a terrorist organisation and arrest the group’s leadership for alleged inflammatory statements and hate speeches against the Igbo race.
The group in a press statement today, Sunday, signed and issued by its President, Chilos Godsent noted that the alleged statement to attack and invade the South-east region of Nigeria is capable of igniting an ethnic war.
“With recent inflammatory statements and hate speeches credited to the leadership of the Miyetti Allah against the Igbo race in Nigeria since the formal inauguration and swearing-in of President Mohammadu Buhari for his second term, it has become very necessary that the Federal Government of Nigeria declare Miyetti Allah a terrorist organization and immediately order the Inspector General of Police to arrest and prosecute him with immediate effect as their statement to attack and invade the South-east region of Nigeria is capable of igniting an ethnic war.”
The group condemned what it termed “nonchalant attitude” of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the heads of all the security agencies over the way they are pampering Miyetti Allah.
The Igbo National Council (INC) said it would will take every “pro-active step to resist and defend the Igbo territories against any form of attack, aggression or invasion by groups in whatsoever disguise or name. The orchestrated unholy conspiracies and gang up against the Igbo race in Nigeria must be put to stop.”
