Massive Turnout Of Electorates In The Akure Metropolis

Accreditation and Voting started at 8:00am with a large turnout of voters at Akure metropolis in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.

As at the time of filing this report, people came out massively to cast their votes in a peaceful manner without any rancour.

The presiding officer at Town hall ward 10, unit 002, Akure, Mr Adeyinka Oladeji, while speaking with CitymirrorNews said that the voters turnout was impressive and the process was peaceful.

The presiding officer said, “As you can see,we started by 8:00am and the electorate conducted themselves in a peaceful manner and our card reader is working perfectly without any problem.

Also Miss Titilayo Johnson, presiding officer at ward 4, unit 4, noted that the electorate were calm and cooperating, saying as at 9:15am over 100 people had cast their votes after the accreditation.

Meanwhile, at St. Stephen Primary School, ward 4, unit 007, accreditation and voting started by 8:30am

Mr Makinde Obafemi, presiding officer at the unit, who spoke with journalists said that the reason for the delay was due to number of electorate in the unit.

“We need to put things right before we can start because over 1,175 electorate is expected to cast their votes here and every thing has been done in order now,he said.
