Extra Judicial killing Set Police And Community At War

Residents of Igbetti Community in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State are now at daggers drawn over the alleged killing of a 32 year- old man by policemen in the area.
Late Jimoh Abdullateef Agoro was allegedly shot dead by a team of policemen when he was on a motor cycle on Sepeteri Igbetti road.
Police at Ago Are denied that the police officers who killed Jimoh were not from their division but from Igbetti,a claim being investigated by the state Command.
A source said that the deceased who worked at a Factory at Sepeteri was rushed to a native doctor after receiving bullet wounds from police men
He died shortly on admission but the Police were accused of taking away the corpse to a government hospital for autopsy .
Youths in the community’ mobilized to storm the Police division to wreak vengeance but the Elders prevailed on them not to take laws into their hands.
Meanwhile, Counsel to the family of the deceased, Barrister A.Y.Aderogba has petitioned the Oyo State Police Command asking it to look into injustice meted out to his client,Jimoh Adio whose son was killed by policemen.
Aderogba asked .the police Command to fish out its officers who unlawfully killed the son of his client adding that he would soon drag the police authorities to court on civil matter and claim damages.
Our Correspondent learnt that both Divisional Police Officers at Igbetti and Ago Are have been asked by the State Command to throw light on the killing of the young man.
The Spokesman for the State Police Command ,Superintendent Olugbenga Fadeyi told our Reporter that the case was under investigation and necessary action would be taken at the end of their findings.
