Why My Successor, Gov Oyetola Was Absent At My Turbaning Ceremony As Amirul Wzirul-Muminina- Aregbesola
Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has cleared the air over the absence of his successor at his turbarning ceremony as the Amirul Wazirul-Muminina of Osun State.
The leagues of Imams and Alfa in Osun today turban the immediate past governor of the state as the Amirul Wazirul-Muminina of the state.
Speaking shortly after his turbarning, Aregbesola denied the insinuation that Governor Oyetola intentionally left the state to absent himself from the programme.
Aregbesola said, “My Governor is with me. We spoke yesterday and this morning. He’s not here because prior to the verdict of the Supreme Court delivered in July, Oyetola had pledged to God that he would be proceeding to Makkah for lesser hajji before the year 2019 runs out if he won the case.
“After winning the court case, the governor has been too busy with administrative work that he forgot to fulfil his promise. As the year almost run out, he has to proceed on the lesser hajji to appreciate Almighty Allah for what he did for him.
“So I want to tell everyone that his absence here is known and I’m commissioning this mosque today on his behalf.”
In his lecture, Sheik (Dr) Abdulazeez Oladosu advised politicians to always be patriotiilc in the dealing and always remember their covenant with Allah and people.
