Olufon Is Not From Our Clan-Olumoyero Ruing House Insists
Some members of Olumoyero Ruling House in Ifon-Orolu, the headquarters of Orolu Local Government Area of Osun state, have insisted that incumbent traditional ruler of the town, Oba Moruf Adekunle Magbagbeola is not a member of Olumoyero ruling house.
They described as illegal the ascendancy of the throne by Oba Magbagbeola, saying they would do everything within ambit of law to reclaim their ‘stolen’ mandate.
It would be recalled that Oba Magbagbeola and some traditional chiefs in the ancient town had petitioned the security agencies notifying them about the alleged plot to cause mayhem in the sleepy community
Addressing journalists in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, Prince Kola Akintola, said Oba Magbagbeola was not qualified to ascend the throne from Olumoyero ruling house.
He alleged that the incumbent monarch allegedly connived with the then government under the watch of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola to set up a kangaroo warrant of King makers to approve his candidacy whom he said contested to ascend the throne of Olufon against Prince Moruf Oladimeji Akintola.
He said series of threats have been received from Oba Magbagbeola due to their resilience to fight what they considered as injustice.
Going down the memory lane, Akintola said the then kingmakers went to the extent of hiring a man who allegedly disguised as Iyalode during the meeting where Oba Magbagbeola candidature was ratified having known the significant role Iyalode who was seriously sick by that time had to played in the selection of Olufon.
According to the Prince, “we have denied Oba Magbagbeola, time without number, that is not a member of the Olumoyero Ruling House, saying he was threatened them so as to force us to change their mind about his membership of Olumoyero Ruling house of Ifon-Osun.
Meanwhile, the aggrieved members of the royal family had in a letter written to the police raised alarm over the plot by Oba Magbagbeola to victimize and harass them whenever they enter the town.
In a letter by Alhaji (Prince) Moruf Oladimeji Akintola, Prince Mufutau Adebayo, Prince Saheed Adebayo, Prince Kareem Adebayo, Mr Saheed Abass and Princess Kudirat Adebayo dated 18th of April, 2019, through their lawyer, the princess and the princes debunked the allegations making the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Moruf they were planing to cause mayhem in the sleepy community.

The letter reads:” …since the time Oba Magbagbeola became the Oba through the back door, he has been using his position to harass, terrorise and threaten the lives of our clients to the extent that sometimes age, attempts were made to eliminate us when we came to Ifon town for Eid-li-fitri.”
“We have lodged a report with the police at Alagbon Lagos and the said Oba was invited . He begged us then and promised not to terrorise or threaten our lives again. He even offered to give give Alhaji Prince Moruf Oladimeji Akintola a jeep and huge sum of money but refused because he had through the back door got the position which rightly belonged to members of Olumoyero Ruling House ”

On the 30th day of March , 2019, we visited our family compound at Ifon-Orolu, Osun State for a special prayer a within our family compound. Immediately after the said special prayer session at about 10:00am, we left the town and went back to Lagos”
“However, to our surprise and dismay, we read in two of the newspapers that we came to Ifon for the purpose of destabilizing the town and to cause mayhem. They said publication were caused to be done by the said Oba Moruf Adekunle Magbagbeola”.
As citizens of Nigeria, we are entitled to our fundamental rights of movement throughout Nigeria and the said Oba Moruf Adekunle Magbagbeola cannot prevent or disturb us from entering our father’s house at Ifon-Orolu
The said Oba Moruf Adekunle Magbagbeola is trying to create erroneous and wrong impression about us because he said is afraid of his own shadow
We have denied him time without number, that he is not a member of the Olumoyero Ruling House and is now doing this , so as to force to change our mind about his membership of Olumoyero Ruling house of Ifon
We are still insisting that the said Oba Moruf Adekunle Magbagbeola is not a member if our ruling house and such not entitled to become the Olufon.
Appealing to the police authorities to caution the monarch to stop terrorising them for demanding for their right just as they demanded thorough investigation of issues they raised in the letter.
