Oranmiyan, ADFAD Unveil Oonirisa Southwest Artists Talent Hunt

To promote the Yoruba culture, the Oranmiyan worldwide in collaboration with ADFAD entertainment on Wednesday inaugurated Oonirisa Southwest Artists Upgrading, a talent hunt.
Speaking, the representative of ADFAD Entertainment, Mr Adeyemo Ademuyiwa said the programme was organized to bring out the best of the participants in cultural values through entertainment music.
Ademuyiwa disclosed this while delivering his welcome address at the programme tagged: The Oonirisa for Southwest Young Artists Upgrading, at Oranmiyan headquarters in Osogbo, noting that its aim and objective is to motivate all upcoming artists in the music industry.
According to Ademuyiwa, “there are issues affecting the youths with God deposited gift in them but due to the fact that many of them could not find means to showcase their talents, they lost focus.”
“The reason behind this programme is to encourage and develop the youths that have talents across the six states in Southwest Nigeria while three winners will emerge from each state.
“We really appreciate the Oranmiyan Worldwide (the Yoruba Legend) organization for their support intellectually and other provisions. Every interested upcoming artists could register at the Oranmiyan house or NTA Osogbo.”
“The winners would be linked up with celebrities, correspondents, stars, producers, marketers and sponsors here in Nigeria and abroad. We would work to bring out the participants unique style in the music entertainment industry.“
However, Director General, Oranmiyan Worldwide, Hon Olajide Sadiq said the group found it necessary to partner with organizers to promote the hidden young talents and to prevent Yoruba culture from going into extinction.
Sadiq maintained that the tradition and culture entirely is dying, one that requires urgent intervention to recover the gold lost in Yorubaland.
The DG Oranmiyan, stressed that the group will use the human resources in its capacity to support the programme adding that the society has lost values that prohibits vices and other heinous crimes among the youths in the country.
“When the idea was brought to us for partnership and we discovered that is a viable project that is necessary to take part. We are calling on government to empower youths through their talents to turn them to the beautiful Young men and women who would be celebrated in Nigeria.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to immediate past governor, Rauf Aregbesola, Osun State, Bar. Gbenga Akano who was the chairman at the programme charged the organizers to ensure the maintenance and sustainability of the programme to serve as source of happiness and employment for youths.
Akano said “If the programme is promoted it would encourage self employment and eradicate youth unrest, thuggery, robbery among others.
In his remark, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll Ooni of Ife, represented by Sooko Kemade Elugbaju implored people to be proud of their culture any where they find themselves by speaking Yoruba language.
The monarch charged parents to encourage their children to speak Yoruba at home and all necessary training to love their culture.
